Lexington's Worthen Road Fields

From Lexington

Follow Massachusetts Avenue from the Minuteman statue to Worthen Road (first set of lights), turn left on Worthen, and turn left again in a hundred meters or so into the parking area.

From Winchester

From Route 3A, climb Johnson Road toward Lexington (becomes Winchester Drive in Lexington) and stay with it over the hill to its intersection with the Middlesex Turnpike. Cross over the Turnpike; thanks to the vagaries of Massachusetts street naming, even though you've gone straight through the intersection, Winchester Drive is a thing of the past; you're now on Maple Street. Take Maple 'til it intersects Massachusetts Avenue and forces a decision; turn left or turn right. Turn right. Take Mass Ave through downtown Lexington to the Minuteman statue, move into the left lane, and turn left. Follow Massachusetts Avenue from the Minuteman statue to Worthen Road (first set of lights), turn left on Worthen, and turn left again in a hundred meters or so into the parking area.

From Route 128/95

Take 95/128 to Exit 31A and get off on Route 4/225 south/east, toward Lexington. This, curiously, is Bedford Street; should you, in error, exit onto Route 4 west, the reason for this name will soon become clear. Stay on Bedford Street through four sets of lights (one of these is the Minuteman Bikeway). At the forth light, turn right onto Worthen Road. As confirmation that you're in the proper place, you should see a Lexington fire station ahead on the left as you approach this light. Stay on Worthen as it curves around to the left past Grace Chapel. The parking lot is on the left, a hundred meters or so past the first set of lights you encounter after turning onto Worthen Road (these lights mark the intersection of Worthen and Massachusetts Avenue).  The Ice Rink, an imposing brick landmark housing Lexington's world class ice skating facilities, is on the right, directly across Worthen Road from the parking lot.
