Show and Go Events

On this page you’ll find a schedule of, and links to details concerning, “Show and Go” walks and rides we invent, learn about from others, or strongarm someone to lead. These are fee-free events; the only stipulation we make is that if you’re planning to attend one you, as a courtesy to whoever’s in charge, RSVP so they’ll know you’re coming. 

Show’N Go Ride - Bill’s Hills

 - When - Wednesday, 23 June, 9:30 AM

 - Where - Boxboro

This is another Bill Brandt/AdventuRides extravaganza in the western suburbs , where some of the finest cycling venues you’ll ever see are situated. Bill writes:

“We’ll meet at the soccer fields in Boxboro on Liberty Square Road. Here’s a map. From there we will go past the old Littleton train depot and climb Oak Hill to Harvard. After checking out the new solar panels at Carlson's Orchards, we’ll enjoy a 2 mile downhill cruise to Delaney Pond.

Then its off to lunch at The Horseshoe Pub in Hudson (80 beers on tap).

After lunch we’ll return by way of the Assabet River Rail Trail, Stow golf courses, Boxboro Center and the aptly named Hill Road. The route is about 28 miles and hilly with about 800 feet vertical (mostly in the morning) ... Editor’s note: Bill doesn’t say how hilly it’ll be in the afternoon but assume that after a few brew it’ll be hillier .... The ride is all on-road and I plan to bring my road bike. Here are a GPSies map and a MapMyRide map.”
