Directions to parking for
Lexington’s Depot Square
Depot Square is the little green space fronting the former railroad station (Depot) on Massachusetts Avenue in downtown Lexington; just behind the Depot is the central parking area serving all Lexington’s walk-in businesses, restaurants, coffee shops, and movie theaters. While it’s not necessary to park at the Square’s pay-for-parking area, it’s handy and affordable ($0.25 per hour); it also tends to be full to capacity by 10 AM. We’re planning to gather at, and launch from, the Minuteman Bikeway side of the Depot Building.
From Route 128/95
Take 95/128 to Exit 31 and get off on Route 4/225 east (Bedford Street) toward Lexington. Stay on Bedford Street through four sets of lights (one of which serves the Bikeway). At the fourth set you should see a Stop and Shop complex ahead on the right and a fire station on the left; continue through these lights about a block, past Lexington Green and the Minuteman Statue, to Massachusetts Avenue. Bear left as Bedford Street flows seamlessly into Mass Avenue; Depot Square is a short distance from the Green, on the left. You’ll see the recently restored Depot building behind it, and the parking lot which is your objective behind that.
*** Good Luck !!! ***
