Arborwood Drive, Burlington

Directions to

Lee and Bob's "Unit", i.e. 7 Arborwood Drive, Burlington, MA

From Route 128/95

Drive 128/95 to Exit 34 (Winn Street) in Burlington and, if northbound, when the exit ramp intersects Winn Street at a set of stop lights, go left and cross back under Route 128/95. Almost immediately you'll come to another set of lights (controlling traffic onto and off Route 128). If southbound on 128, when the exit ramp deposits you at these lights, turn right (Winn Street). Either way, once on Winn Street, stay on it. Within a few tens of meters you'll find yet another set of lights metering autos onto/off Beacon Street for which, in daylight at least, it should be possible to spot a road sign.  Proceed straight through these lights too, staying on Winn Street for about 0.2 miles more; at this point you'll encounter a final stop-lighted intersection (the third since passing under 128 if you are a northbound contingent) at Peach Orchard Road. Turn right here. Continue on Peach Orchard about 0.8 miles, maybe a little more but not much, until one of several things happens: either (a) you spot Arborwood Drive on the right, marked by a hard-to-see road sign and a pair of small rock-pile columns, (b) you notice a prominent road sign on the left for Rhuey Pass, directly across from Arborwood Drive, look right, and spot the Drive at the last moment, or (c) you miss both Rhuey Pass and Arborwood and immediately find yourself descending very abruptly (a descent on which we've been able to top 30 mph riding mountain bikes) to a "T" and are forced to turn around, climb back up, and try again.

Once on Arborwood Drive, however you contrive to get there, drive straight ahead, pausing only for a stop sign about halfway to our "unit", then continuing through it (ignoring signs for Arbor Court) until you are forced to go either right or left. You'll (probably) see an "Arborwood Drive" sign here implying the appropriate choice is right; it isn't. Go left (going right isn't fatal; this is a big lollypop and will bring you back to number 7 sooner or later anyway). On your left will be a four-unit building housing 1, 3, 5, and 7 Arborwood.  This building looks exactly like all the others in the complex. Don't give up. Look closely at the garages, which is where the unit numbers are posted. When you see 7, or notice bicycle-related decorations in the windows, stop, and park in or near the driveway.  Keep wheels off the grass, please! The Association's maintenance company lies awake nights worrying about mangled sprinkler heads.

You're there!!

*** Good Luck !!! ***
